My name is Amy and I am from Chicago.  I enjoy books, writing, yoga, wine, dancing and music. My music preference is broad but my favorite genres are classic rock, alternative, new wave and punk rock.  On the weekends, you can probably find me hanging out at a local bar enjoying some live music.

Writing has always served as an outlet for me. I discovered early on the therapeutic benefits writing has and I love to write. It truly keeps me sane!

I am an animal lover.  I have adopted two tabby cats that are like my kids.  I volunteered at a shelter in the past but had to quit due to my pesky allergies.  I also sponsored a farm animal that was saved from the slaughterhouse for a while.  

I am an on and off vegetarian. The transition to vegetarianism has been a challenge for me. I eat very little meat and opt for organic as much as possible.  I do this mainly out of concern for factory farm animals, it's an issue I care deeply about.

I'm writing part-time but my goal is to become a more serious writer and to publish a children's book.  I'm currently working on several short stories and poems that I hope to publish in the near future.  My day job is as a Senior Customer Service Representative.
