iPhone Apps I Can't Live Without

I can admit it: I'm obsessed with my iPhone. I don't know how I lived without it. I am never more than a few inches away from it. As I write this, my newly upgraded iPhone is sitting next to me in it's pretty turquoise case. I've gotten quite a few alerts in the last fifteen minutes:

11 mins ago: ZombieFarm, ready to invade

13 mins ago: Facebook, new message received

15 mins ago: Ebay, item watching is ending soon

Funny, no phone calls. In fact, I hardly use my smart phone for calling people. I wonder why we still call these awesome little gadgets phones. When I have to make a call, it takes me a few seconds just to find the phone icon on the phone! I'm not even joking.

For me, it's all about the apps. Music apps, game apps, social network apps and YES! Even a Hubpage app!

I never realized how flipping important my iPhone apps are and how I need them for everything I do. For instance, I can't just sit and watch a movie anymore. I have to watch a movie with my iPhone near me and I have to go to Netflix so I can check the ratings, read the reviews and then check out the movies Netflix suggests for me based on this movie that I'm watching. See what I mean?

I've compiled a list of my very favorite apps. I use these apps almost everyday and most of them are actually pretty useful while others are just plain addicting!

Angry Birds

Type of App: Game

Cost: About $0.99

Why I love it: The birds really are angry and they must get revenge on the mutant pigs. Fling birds at the pigs to destroy them. Each level gets a little bit harder and different birds have different powers. This game is insanely addictive.

eBay

Type of App: Shopping

Cost: Free

Why I love it: List items and bid right from your phone. Notifications will be sent to remind you when an auction is ending.

Facebook

Type of App: Social Networking

Cost: Free

Why I love it: Keeps me in touch with my friends, allows me to upload pics and update my status all from my phone.

Hubpages

Type of App: Hubpages!!

Cost: Free

Why I love it: What's not to love? I can check my stats, earnings and moderate or leave comments on mine and others' hubs. I have access to the forums and get notifications for new comments, fan mail and more.

Maps

Type of App: Maps / Directions

Cost: Free

Why I love it: I don't need to invest in a GPX!

My Fitness Pal

Type of App: Fitness

Cost: Free

Why I love it: This app is a necessity if your trying to maintain or lose weight. Just enter weight and keep track of what you eat. My Fitness Pal will tell you how many calories you need to be eating and keep tally on the calories your consuming. You can also add your cardio and it will measure how many calories you burned. Add friends for extra motiviation.

Netflix

Type of App: Entertainment

Cost: Free (subscription is additional)

Why I love it: Browse and watch movies right from your phone.

Scan

Type of App: Shopping

Cost: Free

Why I love it: These QR codes are everywhere now. Just use scan on one of those codes. You'll get additional details on the product, coupons, sales info and options to buy.

Pandora

Type of App: Entertainment / Music

Cost: Free

Why I love it: One of my very favorite apps. Pandora rocks. Membership is free. Adding stations is easy. Just add a favorite song, singer or genre. Pandora will select music based on it. Listen all day, did I mention it's FREE?

iBooks

Type of App: Entertainment / Books

Cost: Application itself is free, books vary.

Why I love it: Super easy to use, find all types of books to read and download in the iBookstore (comes with the iBooks). There are even free books to choose. Easy to read and no book to lug around.

Kindle also has an app, I hear it's great but I haven't used it. It's also free.

TMZ

Type of App: Entertainment / Hollywood & Celebs

Cost: Free

Why I love it: Like celebrity gossip? Need your Lindsay fix? I know I do (hey, we all have our vices!).

Zombie Farm

Type of App: Game

Cost: Application is free, extras vary.

Why I love it: It's Farmville with a twist! Plant and harvest crops AND zombies! There are towns to invade which keeps things interesting. Add friends and visit their farms too! This game is highly addicting!
