Auditioning for the school talent show. Me and my two friends lip-synched The Super Bowl Shuffle and dressed our Cabbage Patch Dolls as Cheerleaders. We didn't make it. :(
Getting my first Cabbage Patch Kid. He was a boy and I hated his name so I renamed him Joey. I also had a premie and a homemade Cabbage Patch Kid.
Dressing up as a punk-rocker for Halloween.
Learning to ride a 10-speed bike
My first perm. I'll never forget how it smelled!
That time of year when they played The Wizard of Oz on tv!

Awe amymarie what a super and well done Hub. Cabbage Patch Dolls..the women would get in fights over those come Christmas time. Pee-Wee, the start of cable and MTV. You've really covered that era so well here. Big Hair and Wheres the Beef..the 80s, because of you it can still come alive for us some. Thank you amymarie and I'm glad you wrote a little about yourself in those days too.
Lot of great (and sad) memories there. Some noteables you over looked were
Garbage Pail kids
The tight roll (when you tuck your jeans into themselves to form a tight cuff at the bottom)
And ZOTS - No one seems to remember zots, but I loved em. They were a string of hard candies with fizzy stuff inside.
Thanks for taking me back.
Great hub. You really did a good job covering the 80's. What a great era, and awesome memories. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Here here! 80s were great times.
From AC/DC to Zelda the 80' s ruled. Thanx. P.S Fast Times At Ridgemont High, thats the time for me.
